More than 200 businesspeople and politicians attended the event, which included several interesting presentations about the demands and expectations the port facilities and the energy supply must meet to ensure growth and prosperity in the future.
Both the political response and the message from industry representatives was clear – the port must be expanded, and the green transition must be accelerated if the Port of Hirtshals is to meet the needs of the business community and be able to facilitate the demand for green energy.
Greenport North CEO Steen Harding Hintze presented the plans to create strong value propositions for the business community in the Port of Hirtshals through sector coupling and the development of circular, sustainable energy solutions for transport and industry.
Among other things, the energy infrastructure needs to be redesigned and must include prime production conditions for the production of new green fuels to support the transition from fossil fuel to renewable energy for both transport and maritime industries.
