NEW ENERGY TOOL DEVELOPED IN COLLABORATION WITH HIRTSHALS BUSINESSES
Electricity prices fluctuate sharply, and for many, it can be difficult to maintain an overview of prices and consumption. Businesses in Hirtshals now have access to a shared digital energy tool that has already demonstrated results in the form of significant savings and greener operations.
Greenport North is now opening up the solution to more local businesses, allowing the tool to be further developed in collaboration with companies in Hirtshals.
The new tool consolidates electricity, water, and heat consumption in one place, providing businesses with a solid foundation for optimizing both operations and finances.
The tool offers, among other things:
- A comprehensive overview of electricity, water, and heat consumption
- Support for selecting the most advantageous electricity agreement based on the company’s actual consumption patterns
- Local control of facilities based on electricity prices, grid tariffs, and weather data
This makes it possible to use energy when it is cheapest and most sustainable.
Documented savings at Hirtshals Stevedore
Hirtshals Stevedore is one of the companies that participated in the tool’s development phase, and the results speak for themselves. The collaboration has revealed an annual savings potential of up to 36 percent of operating costs—without investing in new equipment.
“Energy is not just numbers we jot down—we compare how much goes through the freezers, when goods arrive and leave the facility, and how much power we use. This enables us to make better decisions about our operations and finances,” says Uffe Nielsen, owner of Hirtshals Stevedore.
